Hitachi’s new high-efficiency VRF range

Hitachi, VRF air conditioning

Hitachi Air Conditioning’s high-efficiency Set Free FSXNH VRF air-conditioning system is designed for medium to large-sized installations. It is claimed to be the highest-performing VRF system in Japan (annual performance) and recently received the Japanese Energy Efficiency & Conservation Award for 2013,

The new range builds on the success of the previous FSXN and, like its predecessor, offers 2-pipe heat-pump and 3-pipe heat-recovery options from a single unit. Outdoor units range from 5 to 36 hp. Piping lengths can be up to 1000 m with an improved height difference of 90 m between outdoor and indoor units or up to 30 m height difference between indoor units.

Over a hundred indoor-unit and heat-exchanger combinations, with nominal capacities down to 1.7 kW and up to 150% connection ratio (to outdoor capacity).

There is a wide range of individual and centralised control options.

Recently launched ErP Lot 11 compliant heat-recovery modules, active heat exchanger, direct-expansion kits to work with third-party AHUs and air curtains are just some possibilities that can be considered.

Hitachi has also updated its HiToolKit software for planning, selecting and designing a complete VRF system.

The new equipment is available from Hitachi Direct Sales or Hitachi’s extensive distributor network.
