JS Wright installs energy centre for affordable housing
JS Wright is to design and install mechanical services for a new £11 million affordable-housing scheme in Tower Hamlets, east London. The £1 million contract includes an energy centre and associated infrastructure for the 7storey building in Three Colts Lane; it was awarded by main contractor Galliford Try Partnerships.
The LPHW energy centre will serve heating-interface units in all 67 mixed-tenure homes, which are being constructed the Level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes for affordable-housing provider Peabody.
The centre will also provide mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, boosted cold water, above-ground drainage, purge ventilation and rainwater harvesting.
The project is due for completion in November 2013.
