Remeha boilers are star performers at theatre
Comprehensively demonstrating the benefits of modern gas-fired boilers over aging oil-fired boilers is this replacement project at the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil. It was when the oil-fired boiler was starting to fail that South Somerset District Council appointed Mike Slade of Slade Associates to design a replacement boiler plant.
The new plant comprises two Remeha Commercial Gas 310 Eco Pro 6-section gas-fired condensing boilers. The plant room is in the basement of the building and has narrow access. The new boilers were broken down into three sections and reassembled and installed by Watertite Heating.
Other advances of the new boilers include full modulation and sequence control from the BMS for maximum operational efficiency. With a new control panel and updated BMS linking to the theatre network and the offices of South Somerset Council, staff can control the heating and monitor the energy and carbon savings achieved by the Remeha boilers, which are expected to be significant.
