Grundfos devises water-cooling solution for data centres

Grundfos Pumps, data centre

Grundfos has been working with a key industry partner to devise a water-based solution for cooling the enclosures of blade servers in data centres. Water is an excellent and efficient way of transferring heat but places a high reliance on the competence of companies involved in delivering such solutions.

The robust solution devised by Grundfos and its partner involves an integrated pump package and Grundfos’s range of vortex flow sensors. These industrial-quality stainless-steel sensors are highly resistant to corrosion and mechanical wear They do not have any moving parts, so they will not drift. In addition, no recalibration or maintenance is required.

With data centres being designed to allow them to be scaled up, Grundfos has calculated future proofing into its solution.
