Rinnai helps deliver emergency cover for domestic hot water
Published: 03 February, 2015
Rinnai is helping CST Renewables provide mobile emergency hot-water cover with two HDC 1500 Infinity condensing gas-fired water heaters installed in a small trailer. The equipment includes a low-loss buffer vessel to cope with extra demand. The unit can be fitted to systems with or without a secondary return loop.
Mark Hillier-Rees of CST Renewables, explains, ĎWe have the ability to deliver instantaneous hot water to commercial premises with only a cold-water mains supply present and the installation pipework supplied by the client. The unit can run off its own power and gas supply, or it can be run off a 110 V transformer on site.í
Two bottles of LPG gas would cope with the units running full out for 48 h. They are normally expected to run for a week before replacement.
The company does a lot of installations for the Ministry of Defence. While work is in progress, hot water needs to be kept on. The company used to have a container lorry fitted with a boiler and delivered to site at a cost of £1000 a week. However, such a large vehicle was not always suitable for smaller sites. For more information on this story, click here: February 2015, 103
