Helping to get the best from pipe insulation — Kingspan Tarec’s new technical-support services.

To enable specifiers, mechanical engineers and contractors to get maximum benefit from the premium performance of its Koolthem FM pipe-insulation system, Kingspan Tarec has increased its technical support with the Kooltherm FM Premier and Premier Plus Services. The aim is to deliver clear advice and guidance at every stage in a project — from initial specification to site visits and certification.

The Premier service is targeted at installations of Kooltherm FM pipe insulation. It includes an initial consultation and pre-tender KFM Koolspec check services, along with thermal calculations and design support to ensure compliance with Part L of the Building Regulations. Once the product is on site, Kingspan Tarec will provide two site inspections and telephone support to give responses to any issues within 24 hours.

For installation of the entire Kooltherm FM Complete pipe insulation system, which includes insulated pipe supports and fire sleeves, the company has introduced the FM Premier Plus service. In addition to the benefits above, this service includes a further three site inspections and separate visits from Kingspan Pipeline technical representatives. The expert technical team will also provide a pre-design assessment of details, SAP Calculations and a Toolbox installation training talk. Once a project is completed, the contractor will receive a certification of installation and a full project-specific warranty.

Designed for use with pipework at operating temperatures from -50 to +110°C, FM pipe insulation can achieve thermal conductivities as low as 0.025 W/mK, enabling the desired thermal performance to be achieved with minimum thickness. The insulation and associated insulated pipe supports have a Green Guide A+ rating.
