Jaga delivers fresh air and heat to new school

Jaga, space heating, ventilation, indoor air quality
Heating and ventilation for new primary-school buildings in Scotland is provided by Jaga’s Oxygen ventilation system and Maxi LST radiators.

The rebuilding of James Aiton Primary School in Cambuslang includes a biomass boiler and Jaga’s oxygen ventilation system and Maxi LST radiators. The Jaga equipment delivers heating and fresh air to the seven classrooms. The new school also has separate assembly and dining halls, a library and ICT room.

The work was carried out as part of South Lanarkshire Council’s modernisation programme for primary schools.

Jason Boshell, Jaga’s representative on the project, says, ‘After several meetings with South Lanarkshire, they were happy to specify the Oxygen ventilation system along with Maxi LST radiators. The Maxi radiator provides a safe, robust radiator, the Oxygen system guarantees the precise amount of ventilation required in the room at any given time — maintaining the correct room temperature regardless of external conditions.’

The system is controlled according to CO2 levels indoors. Outside air is filtered and heated before being delivered to the space. Stale air is exhausted at the same rate. The result is a balanced system that minimises energy use by avoiding too much ventilation and heating.

The project includes 18 Maxi LST radiators, each 2 m long, that provide the same output as other but larger radiators.
