VRF air conditioning for a wider audience

Cooling that is 40% more efficient that the previous model — Mitsubishi Electrical PUMY VRF models.

Mitsubishi Electric has launched a mini VRF air-conditioning range to bridge the gap between the Mr Slim range and the City Multi line-up. There are three outdoor PUMY units rated at 4, 5 and 6 hp. They have a COP greater than three, which is above the range currently required for Enhanced Capital Allowances. Philip Ord, City Multi product engineer, says, ‘These new units offer an increase of 40% energy efficiency in cooling and 30% in heating over the previous model. We are currently pursuing Enhanced Capital Allowance rating for the line-up.’ All three units have inverter drives and 50 m of pre-charged piping for ease of installation. They offer extended pipe runs of 120 m, so that outdoor units can be 80 m away from the furthest indoor unit.
