CentraLine finalists for BCIA Awards

CentraLine by Honeywell are pleased to announce that seven of its nominations have been accepted as finalists for the 2015 Building Controls Industry Association Awards. The awards ceremony will be held on 14 May at Chesford Grange Hotel, Kenilworth, Warwickshire.

The BCIA Awards recognise companies and individuals who have been outstanding in performance, innovation and customer satisfaction.

Award entries were judged by an independent panel including the editor of Modern Building Services and representatives of research and academia organisations BSRIA, B&ES, CIBSE and University College London.

Jim Sword, sales manager for CentraLine by Honeywell, says, ‘We are delighted with the finalists nominated by CentraLine, which has over 140 Partners dedicated to delivering effective and efficient building management systems.

This recognition of the Partners, projects and people is most gratifying considering the high number of quality finalists.’

Energy Management and Technical Innovation of the Year — Projects.

Smart Buildings Ltd.

Smart Buildings and Barclays have developed a solution of remote management and improved control on a branch-wide basis. This includes the concept of an alarm system which triggers when faults occur and registers a job on the planned and preventative maintenance register.

Engineer of the Year.

Gavin Jones of Eton Controls Ltd.

Gavin Jones has been in the building-controls industry for over 30 years. During this time he has built a solid professional reputation for engineering expertise, project management and customer relationships.

Independent System and BEMS Installer of the Year.

Technical Innovative of the Year — Products (two entries).

The Honeywell SeaHawk

The SeaHawk leak-detection system can be installed as standalone with an in built annunciation display or integrated with a building-management system to provide a centralised, communication and alarm capability.

The second entry is the Honeywell domestic range of Connected Heating Products. This range of products enables the home owner to connect to their heating system using remote smart devices. This new connectivity is of growing importance as building-management systems in apartment blocks interface with residents’ own access to their homes.
