Original Borstal workshop refurbished with warm-air heating

Borstal
Effective heating for this food-preparation in a young-offenders institution is provided by Reznor warm-air heaters.
Warm-air heating that distributes warmth with minimal air movement and no draughts is delivered in a large workshop at HMYOI Rochester by two Reznor V3 gas-fired warm-air heaters. This establishment is the original Borstal of 1902, named after the nearby village. The skills taught in this newly refurbished building focus on food preparation and packing. This requires an environment that is clean and draught free to prevent the circulation of dust. Hadene Engineering of Chatham specified the heaters, which are positioned at opposite ends of the building above steel sliding doors. These horizontal units deliver air above the doorways. By natural convection, the warm air rises into the 5 m roof space, from where it is returned to lower levels by Reznor Maximisor destratification fans. The heaters can warm up the space rapidly, adding to the overall economical operation of the system.
