Design specification for DX packaged systems
Design guidance for DX air conditioning up to 70 kW — RAC80 from HVCA Publications.
HVCA Publications has prepared a major revision of RAC80 to achieve a high-level design specification for DX (direct-expansion) packaged air-conditioning systems. Written by HVCA’s Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Group, RAC80 has 12 sections covering topics from technical concerns such as system evaluation, selection criteria and the design and sizing of electrical wiring to advice on human comfort. The guide is aimed at systems providing up to 70 kW of cooling, but many of the principles described relate to larger systems. There is advice on the best product for various applications and on best-practice standards. By using RAC80, system designers can be sure they are complying with all current legislation, adhering to recognised best-practice standards and in line with the competencies required by HVCA’s criteria for inspection and assessment. hvcapublications@welplan.co.uk
