RPS Group’s building-services consultancy has embarked on the next stage of its growth strategy with the appointment of three new professionals in its M&E and vertical-transportation teams. The company is currently engaged as building-services consulting engineer on several high-profile city-centre developments in Manchester. They include SK Developments’ Greengate Embankment office-led mixed-use scheme, Select Property Group’s City Suites residential development on Chapel Street and Balfour Beatty Investments’ PRS scheme at New Cross, Ancoats.

Ian Thomason, managing director, (pictured centre) said, ‘Our existing teams will be strengthened with the appointment of these three new strategic roles which are targeted at already strong sectors for the business, where we are experiencing increased demand for our services, not just in the north west but throughout the country.

John Carroll (left) has joined the business from Zerum as an M&E director based in the Manchester office with a remit to further develop the group’s building services activities in the private sector. He worked extensively on the Media City:UK development, which RPS has also been actively involved in.

The vertical-transportation team is bolstered by the arrival of John O’Keefe who was previously a Director of OTIS. His appointment increases the specialist lift and escalator team to 14 staff and makes it one of the largest specialist teams of its kind in the country.
