Wet underfloor heating in a depth of just 25 mm
A system for installing wet underfloor heating that enables systems to be fitted into a depth of 25 mm has been developed by Continental Underfloor Heating. Slimfix also halves installation time. Slimfix is aimed primarily at the retro-fit market, the development of which has been limited by underfloor heating raising floors by 75 mm or more. The approach is based on a flexible, thick foil through which the underfloor pipe brackets can be fitted. Its effectiveness has been tested by BSRIA, and the system has been trialled on a number of projects. Slimfix is available for hard floors or joisted floor and can be installed above an existing screed, slab or wooden floor.
