Heating and hot water for the home of the future

cylinder
Capable of being served by a variety of energy sources, Chelmer’s Dual Thermostore hot-water cylinder can deliver domestic hot water and supply underfloor heating.
Designed to accept inputs from a range of heat sources, the Dual Thermostore range of hot-water cylinders from Chelmer Heating Services can provide plentiful supplies of hot water for underfloor heating and domestic use. They can accept energy from solar power, cookers, wood-burning stoves and ground-source heat pump, They can be specified by professional builders for housing projects, including refurbishment or the conversion of larger properties into smaller units. Dual Thermostore integrated packages comprise an insulated copper cylinder encased in plastic-coated steel with a white finish. These sealed systems have a primary expansion vessel with safety valve and are complete with fitted control valves, thermostats and time clock. Compression fittings provide connections to the boiler, underfloor heating and hot-water systems. Three units provide capacities of 160, 200 and 280 l. Two thermostats enable water to be stored at 70°C in the upper part of the cylinder, so that hot water can be delivered at mains pressure, and 35 to 55°C in the lower part to serve underfloor heating. The lower part of the cylinder also acts as a buffer to maintain boilers in condensing mode and prevent wasteful cycling.
