Evaporative cooling caters for cooling needs of catering company

The key to reducing temperatures on this mezzanine floor of a warehouse from 34°C to 24°C is evaporative cooling using Breezair units from Seeley International.
Temperatures exceeding 35°C in the warehouse of Nisbets, a specialist in commercial catering equipment, have been reduced to a much more comfortable 24°C by installing evaporative cooling. A Breezair evaporative cooler from Seeley International was installed by Clean Air Group to provide a cost-effective solution to the problem of excessively high temperatures. The top level of the 3-storey mezzanine of the recently opened 9890 m2 warehouse is very close to the roof and became very hot, despite modifications to the existing ventilation system. Jeremy Beetson, facilities manager with Nisbets, explains, ‘We looked at a number of ideas, including refrigerated air conditioning, which was very expensive. We liked the innovative concept of the Breezair system and the fact that it uses water instead of refrigerants for cooling.’ Following a survey, Clean Air Group installed eight Breezair coolers onto the roof to provide 10 air changes an hour. Strategically placed internal vents deliver cool, fresh air to an area of 2700 m2. Temperatures are controlled by programmable regulators. Following the success of this project, Nisbets is planning to ask Clean Air Group to install Breezair coolers into other areas of the warehouse within the next two years.
