Preparing for the F-Gas Regulation

Parasense has assembled a package of products and services to help facilities managers comply with the F-Gas Regulation when comes into effect in July 2007 Air-conditioning or heat-pump systems with over 300 kg of HFCs must be fitted with a calibrated leak-detection system. In addition, the operator must trace the use of all specified F gases — during installation, routine service and maintenance and recovery before disposal. The package includes a fixed infra-red leak detector, installation kit, commissioning and six months’ free access to the Headline News services for refrigerant tracking. A spin-off benefit of detecting refrigerant leaks is the effect on energy efficiency. A system losing 15% of its refrigerant charge could see its cooling capacity halved and energy consumption doubled.
