Heat pumps designed for larger applications

ECO
Eco Heat Pumps now offers a heavy-duty range for commercial and public-sector applications. Robust units are designed to meet duties from 13 to 45 kW with water temperatures of up to 65°C for units from 13 to 26 kW and up to 55°C for units up to 45 kW. COPs are better than 5:1. Sophisticated control options make it possible to cascade units, automatically controlling the number of units in operation and the energy extracted from the ground according to factors such as occupancy levels. All Robust models have a sub-cooler — an additional heat exchanger to draw the maximum free energy from the heat source. A de-superheater maximises heat-transfer efficiency. These heat pumps have scroll compressors, which are claimed to offer up to 20% better performance than reciprocating compressors. Weather-compensation control is standard, ensuring that water is delivered to the heating system no hotter than necessary. Up to 15% additional energy can be saved with this method of control.
