Quartz applies modern technology to offer the plug-and-play fan-coil unit

The jigsaw puzzle of assembling and commissioning a fan-coil units and its associated valves, fans, ductwork and grilles has been solved by a concept called Quartz Solutions.
By offering automatic self-balancing valves factory pre-set to the specified flow and controllable electronically commutated DC motors with its fan-coil units, the Quartz Division of TEV addresses the problems of installation and commissioning that are normally experienced on site. The approach is called Quartz Solutions and is offered in three levels of sophistication. The most sophisticated, the Platinum Solution, includes a motor controller that is factory pre-set for design air flow and self-balancing modulating valves, also factory preset for design water flow. Other options include flexible hoses with Speedfit connectors. Control can be either by an open-protocol controller with strategy and return-air sensor fitted or a factory-fitted, free-issued controller with sensors. An alliance with a major grille manufacturer enables grilles and diffusers to be supplied to match the performance of the fan-coil unit and to guarantee noise levels. Ductwork can also be supplied. The supply of equipment can be complemented with a post-installation pre-commissioning/handover check. Maurice Diamond, Quartz product manager, describes Quartz Solutions as a plug-and-play system and says, ‘There exist today fans, controllers and valves that go a long way to eliminating the site set-up and commissioning of fan-coil units, whilst correct consideration and application of ductwork, grilles and diffusers at the design stage would guarantee the noise requirement. ‘Mix all of these components together in the factory, set them to the specified flow-rates for air and water as specified in the selection and you have Quartz Solutions.’
