AET’s Flexible Space System, incorporating Hiross underfloor air conditioning, has been installed in the Nina Tower in Hong Kong.
Among the benefits of installing the Advanced Ergonomic Technologies Flexible Space System incorporating Hiross underfloor air conditioning in the Nina Tower in Hong Kong is a considerable reduction in building height. This recently completed complex comprises an 80-storey, 300 m main tower and a 42-storey secondary building. It houses an 800-room 5-star hotel, shopping mall and 29 floors of office space. Glan Blake Thomas, managing director of AET, explains, ‘Over the 29 floors of office space, 11.6 m of height can be saved, or three extra floors accommodated in the same height. The height saving in such proportions offers initial construction-cost saving and reduces solar and thermal gain — and thus energy consumption.’ The installation includes 34 000 m2 of raised access flooring, 136 CAM Zone air-handling units, 1900 fan tiles in the raised floors to deliver conditioned air and state-of-the-art Hirovisar controls and Electropatent underfloor modular power tracks.
