Bankside development uses £1 million-worth of Trox fan-coil units and diffusers

The Bankside 1/2/3 development in London, centrally located in this picture, represents £1 million of orders for fan-coil units and diffusers for Trox.
Trox has completed the supply of £1 million-worth of airside fan-coil units and diffusers for various contracts for Bankside 1/2/3 on London’s South Bank. Neil Addison of Trox UK says, ‘By working closely with Land Securities’ design team, we were able to supply precisely what was required on time and to budget. The fan-coil unit controllers were factory fitted and tested to save time on site.’ On Bankside 1, Trox supplied both products. Neil Addison explains. ‘Fan-coil units and diffusers are traditionally supplied separately. Because these products are made by different manufacturers who fail to co-ordinate their design, performance problems can occur — notably with noise. ‘These problems have been addressed by the system engineering approach developed by Trox. Fan-coil units and diffusers are provided from a single source, with guaranteed noise levels, thermal performance and air distribution. Indeed, diffusers and fan-coil units can be supplied prefabricated on a common raft.’ Bankside 1 provides around 43 000 m2 of office and retail space. It is occupied by IPC Magazine Group. Bankside 2 and 3 include Trox ceiling diffusers. They provide 38 750 m2 of office space and around 3160 m2 of retail space.
