Parts Center backs CORGI with series of special events

Parts Center CORGI
Parts Center now sells safety-critical gas parts only to CORGI-registered installers.
As part of its initiative to sell safety-critical gas parts only to CORGI-registered installers, Parts Center, part of the Wolseley Group, is hosting CORGI days at all 200 of its branches from 28 April to 2 May. Customers will be able to meet face to face with CORGI inspectors and ask them about industry-related issues such as forthcoming legislation and courses and qualifications available to them. Steve Ashmore, managing director of Plumb Center and Parts Center, sys, ‘We held similar CORGI days at our branches in November to launch the gas safety initiative [which came into effect on 1 January], and these were very well received. We are delighted to continue to support the organisation and hope our customers will find these events beneficial.’ Keith Needham, CORGI’s director of professional membership, says, ‘CORGI has been extremely pleased with the feedback we have received from our members following the introduction of the Parts Center initiative. The CORGI days not only give our members a chance to meet with their local inspector, but they also give people who aren’t registered an opportunity to learn more about the benefits of CORGI registration. ‘CORGI is serious about cracking down on the UK’s illegal gas workers and is working hard with the rest of the industry to ensure that we reduce the impact these cowboys have on gas safety. The Parts Center initiative is a positive step in the right direction.’
