Ability fan-coil units serve new flagship police station
The heating and cooling needs of this new 11 500 m2 police station in Kent are met by over 230 chassis-type fan-coil units from Ability Projects.
The new North Kent Police Station near Northfleet features over 230 Titan 4-pipe chassis-type fan-coil units made by Ability Projects. Built at a cost of £30 million, this 4-storey complex of 11 500 m2 is designed around a central atrium and includes public rest areas and restaurants. State-of-the-art facilities include a custody suite with 40 cells, interview suite for vulnerable witnesses and separate entrances for custody areas and the front counter. The fan-coil units are served by low-temperature hot water at 50/44°C from condensing boilers for heating. Some heating coils are recircuited to achieve design duties at low temperatures. Chilled water is supplied by a chiller. The fan-coil units for this project have heating capacities from 1.3 to 3.2 kW and cooling capacities from 1.6 to 3.7 kW. They are fitted with free-issue controls and multi spigots. Noise ratings are NR35. They we installed by Meica Services of Ashford in Middlesex.
