Priva’s multi-lingual capabilities keep control in new Glasgow headquarters building
The multi-lingual capabilities of Priva building-management equipment enable it to communicate with a wide range of plant at the new headquarters of City Refrigeration Holdings
The multi-lingual capabilities of Priva building-management systems led Campbell Control Services to use this equipment for the new headquarters building of City Refrigeration Holdings (UK) in Glasgow. The Priva BMS converses with a range of equipment with their own packaged controls and differing protocols. These include Denco packaged air conditions providing close control in the IT suite, Daikin VRV split air conditions (also with their own packaged controls) and a back-up generator using Modbus. Also under Priva control are four air-handling units providing tempered air to the space. The building comprises a central core with an office wing on either side. Campbell Control Services designed the BMS around two Priva Compri HX8 controllers, complete with remote control capabilities, and four Compri HX4 controllers. Energy-saving measures include variable-speed drives on the AHU fans, volt-free contacts on the lighting system, which is intelligently managed by the Priva BMS to ensure that lighting is not switched on/off unnecessarily and PIR sensors on the ventilation and lighting systems. The BMS also monitors the main switchboard for power faults, with the back-up generator managed by the BMS over Modbus. In the event of a power failure, the BMS will prioritise the order of plant and equipment switch-on according to the power available.
