Reliable and simple monitoring of airflow in ductwork

Wilson flow grid
Accurate flow measurement in ducts up to 4 m2 are provided by an improved range of Wilson flow grids from Airflow developments.
An improved range of Wilson flow grids from Airflow Developments provides a simple and cost-effective method of accurately monitoring airflow in ductwork — both during and after commissioning. These grids can be made to suit any shape of duct up to 4 m2. They consist of an array of two independent perforated tubes that provides a high degree of accuracy (within ±2%). Because the averaged differential-pressure output is about 1.5 times the duct mean velocity pressure, measurements can be achieved in low-flow conditions that could not be reliably sensed using a Pitot static tube. It is possible to locate a flow grid in a system with limited straight runs of duct. The grid can be connected via a 5 mm-bore tube to a pressure transmitter for interfacing to a BEMS.
