Team Honeywell turns in some good performances in 2008 season

Team Honeywell
Team Honeywell turned in good performances at several meetings, in the Uniroyal World Cup this season.
Team Honeywell has been delivering winning performances in the world-cup events of the Uniroyal Fun Cup series this year. The cars have bodies styled like a VW Beetle but are real racing cars with a tubular chassis, PR body, central driving position and mid-mounted engine with rear-wheel drive. Races usually last three to six hours, with an hour qualifying beforehand. Grid positions are normally made up from a ballot. At the Nürburgring in Germany, the team was outright winner of the 14-lap sprint race on the Nordschleife — the old 25 km grand prix circuit. The team came second in a field of 95 cars in the six-hour endurance race on the new grand prix circuit — the GP-Strecke. Neil Plimmer, the Yorkshire heating installer who shares the driving with Geoff Fawcett, says, ‘It was a great end to our 2008 season, coming soon after our win in the final round of the UK Uniroyal Fun Cup series at Oulton Park.’ Following consecutive wins in 2006 and 2007, Team Honeywell had to be content with fourth place in the 2008 season after accident damage left its car well down the field in two races over a single weekend early in the season.
