Smart-home technologies

BRE

IBexcellence, an intelligent buildings network group run by BRE, has launched a report on how smart-home technologies could help new dwellings meet the performance levels of the Code for Sustainable Homes.

Case studies in the report provide an evidence base of how smart technologies have been used to improve the social, economic and environmental performance of homes.

Mike Perry, BRE co-author of the resort, says, ‘This report aims to open up a dialogue between Government and industry about incorporating smart-home systems into the code and mainstream practice.’

Copies of the report are available form the ibexcellence web site.
