The company has teamed up with Cannons Health Club in Hull to provide free membership, which has been taken up by over 90% of its 70-strong staff. Sickness rates have dropped dramatically.

Managing director Neil Fisher said, ‘We did the deal with Cannons to provide free membership for staff as a way of thanking them for the fantastic work they do for the company, day in and day out. Without their hard work and dedication, we would not have been able to build up our reputation as one of Britain’s leading professional engineering firms.’

Airco has also launched a £1 million apprenticeship scheme after discovering a shortage of engineers trained to the standard expected by Airco. Its 26 apprentices attend Grimsby College of Technology for classroom-based learning as well as gaining vital practical experience with Airco.
