Powerminster Gleeson Services explains energy saving to school pupils
Powerminster Gleeson Services has launched a ‘Saving energy’ campaign with numerous schools in the north of England to raise awareness of environmental issues. As part of the campaign, pupils at Low Ash Primary School in Shipley near Bradford illustrated their knowledge of climate change by designing a poster on the theme of reducing carbon emissions.
Staff from Powermaster explained to year-five pupils how to save energy at home and at school as part of the ‘Save the world’ topic they were studying. The pupils then designed posters demonstrating the many ways energy usage can be reduced. A team of energy experts from Powerminster selected one winner and three runners-up.
Lindsey Hobson, assistant business development manager, said, ‘We are committed to corporate social responsibility. By working closely with pupils to highlight the importance of preserving the environment for future generations, we are able to build strong relationships with the local communities we work in.’
