Stainless-steel wiring accessories add to hotel refurbishment

Hamilton Litestat

As part of major refurbishment, the Jury’s 4-star hotel in Great Russell Street in the west end of London has installed satin stainless-steel wiring accessories from Hamilton Litestat’s Hartland range — some of which are visible behind the desk in the photograph. This hotel is being rebranded under the Doyle Collection and will soon be relaunched as the Bloomsbury Hotel.

Designed by 20th century English architect Sir Edwin Lutyens, the Grade 2 listed building has been sensitively restored to blend old-world grandeur with contemporary comfort.

All the air-conditioned en-suite rooms have been furnished and equipped with facilities that include complimentary high-speed Internet access, multi-channel TVs and minibars.

The Hartland plates were specified by the design team to complement finishes in guest rooms. Lesley McKellar of the Cunningham McLean Partnership says, ‘We have used Hamilton’s Hartland plate in many other hotel applications and have found it to be very durable. That is important in this type of environment, as the switches and sockets get a lot of hard use.’

The installation includes special plates to incorporate American and European sockets. Other plates include RJ45 data modules and satellite outlets for cable TV installations. All plates have black inserts to contrast and complement the stainless-steel finish.
