Rinnai hot-water solution for new restaurant is minimalist

Rinnai
All the hot-water requirements of this large restaurant near Newcastle upon Tyne are met by two Rinnai continuous-flow water heaters.

From outside, Fratelli’s cafe and restaurant in Ponteland near Newcastle upon Tyne looks small. Tardis-like, on a mezzanine floor, it has space for 250 covers, kitchen, bars and a large lounge area. What it does not have, however, is any free space for water-heating plant.

To overcome this problem, contractor HLS Services of Newcastle installed two Rinnai HD50i continuous-flow gas-fired water heaters linked to a 500 litre buffer tank. The heaters are hidden away in a small cupboard off the office and store room and serve the hot-water requirements of the kitchens, washrooms and toilets.

The two heaters can deliver 40 l/min of water. It is supplied at 70°C to the kitchens and kept within 1 K of that temperature.

The 500 litre tank comes as a package from Rinnai, with the heaters and all controls and connections, to meet peaks in demand.
