Luxury apartments enjoy benefits of system integration

Intergrated Control Systems
Environmental control systems for six luxury apartments in Belgravia have been integrated with a Crestron home audio visual/entertainment system.

A development of six luxury apartments with price tags of up to £40 million and a health club in London’s Belgravia includes a complex integration exercise by Integrated Control Systems.

ICS installed a building-management system to meet all landlord’s requirements and provide complete monitoring and metering of all incoming utilities for tenant billing.

By applying its system integration skills, ICS has provided user-friendly systems in each apartment to give occupants extensive room-by-room control of the internal environment. Systems such as underfloor heating, fan-coil units, ventilation, lighting, blinds etc. are linked to the BMS via a key pad serving a Crestron home audio visual/entertainment.

All elements are accessible through a web link, giving occupants remote access to enable them to alter set points and times — and also respond to any alarms raised.

John Reid, managing director of ICS, says, ‘This installation demonstrates the flexibility of today’s systems. The BMS has been integrated with a third-part system — in this case Crestron — to transfer data and give the occupants of each apartment extremely user-friendly access to a system previously designed for engineers.’
