High-pressure spray humidifier achieves high energy efficiency

JS Humidifiers

The JetSpray HP high-pressure spray in-duct humidifier from JS Humidifiers has less than 1%

of the energy consumption of standard electric steam humidifiers and less than 7%

of the consumption of compressed-air and water-spray systems. JetSpray HP also provides evaporative cooling of up to 12 K. It can be used to cool and humidify supply air as

well as being combined with

a energy-recovery to cool incoming supply air.

These humidifiers comprise stainless-steel nozzles mounted in a moulded-plastic turbulator bank. Water is supplied to the nozzles at 15 to 70 bar, producing a very fine mist as it is released under pressure.

The nozzles in the turbulator bank are positioned inside the duct facing a fibrous droplet separator 90 cm downstream. The turbulator bank has aerodynamic fins to spin the air as it passes through, increasing the distance it travels before meeting the droplet separator.

Outputs of up to 780 l/h can be achieved using just 550 W and provide close humidity control to ±2% RH.

Hygienic operation is assured with pre-programmed flush and drain cycles to ensure no water remains in the pipework to stagnate. Water entering the system is treated with a PureFlo Ag+ silver-ion dosing filter. Jetspray HP has gained European VDI6022 approval for hygiene.
