Integral to the operation of eight new towers in the Jumeirah Lakes Towers suburb of Dubai is a host of fans from Elta Fans.

Fans are being supplied by the building-services export division of Elta Fans for a series of towers being constructed in Dubai. Five different mechanical-services consultants have specified various Elta products for schemes in eight projects by different developers.

Jumeirah Lakes Towers is a mixed-used development of 730 000 m2 of 79 towers in groups of three to form 23 clusters along the edges of four man-made lakes and linked by waterways with landscaped gardens. Each tower has a distinctive design.

Elta fans have been specified for a variety of applications. They include emergency smoke clearance, car-park ventilation (including axial-flow variations to improve air quality during normal use and smoke clearance in the event of a fire) long-case axial fans, slim-profile plate-mounted axial fans, Multiflow mixed-flow fans and Jetflow all-metal plate-mounted axial fans.

Also specified are fans constructed from shock-proof heat-resistant plastic, Hideaway SH fans, Powerduct and Twinflow direct inline centrifugal fans for duct mounting, Quietflow acoustically treated single inline fans and the Skyflo lightweight range of horizontal-discharge roof extract units.

David Osgerby, managing director of Elta Fans, said, ‘We are very well represented in the UAE by our distributor Kinetics Ventilation Equipment. To be involved in such a large, prestigious project is most gratifying, especially when our products have been specified in eight very impressive towers by world-renowned mechanical-services consultants. The value of fan contracts awarded is in excess of £250 000.’
