Calor makes history at Pentillie Castle

Renewable energy and Calor LPG work side by side in this historic castle in Cornwall.

Calor has brought an historic castle into the 21st century with the installation of a renewable-energy system and LPG to fuel hot water and heating. Pentillie Castle in Cornwall has undergone a complete renovation to transform it into a wedding and private-hire venue. Murch & Baker was appointed to upgrade the castle’s heating and hot-water systems.

Murch & Baker specified Calor LPG to meet the needs of the castle’s heating and catering facilities, since many chefs prefer the controllability and performance of a gas range.

Murch & Baker also specified a solar solution, with panels on the roof, to meet a proportion of the hot-water and heating requirement.

Another solar panel was specified to support the LPG system to heat the outdoor swimming pool.

LPG is stored in three 2000 l tanks.

As a leading LPG supplier to rural homes and businesses, Calor works alongside leading manufacturers to ensure that LPG is compatible with low-carbon and renewable technologies.
