Daikin adds fan convector to Altherma system

Daikin, fan convector, Altherma

Daikin has added to the capabilities of its Altherma system for home heating and domestic hot water with a heat-pump convector that performs effectively with low flow temperatures. Its low noise levels [down to 19 dB(A)] make it suitable for bedrooms. There is a remote control with weekly timer for room temperature, fan speed, automatic or night mode and rapid heating or cooling.

In an installation with several fan convectors, each unit can be directly wired to the Altherma indoor unit (Hydrobox) or Altherma low-temperature Monobloc unit so that each room can receive heat when required.

In addition to taking account of outdoor ambient temperature, the control system can intelligently control flow temperature according to underfloor heating demand, convector demand, or both. This approach increases efficiency by 25 to 40%, with COPs of 3 to 4, depending on mode.
