Hamworthy Heating achieves trio of international standards

Hamworthy Heating, boilers

Hamworthy Heating, a leading British manufacturer and supplier of commercial heating and hot-water products, has added another accreditation to achieve three important international standards. The latest is OHSAS 18001, which covers occupational health and safety management. The company has also been reassessed against ISO 14001, which deals with environmental management, and ISO 9001, the quality-management standard.

As a result of working towards these standards, Hamworthy Heating now sends far less waste to landfill sites. Contracts are in place for recycling all paper, cardboard, waste metal, plastic cups, milk cartons, batteries, printer and copier cartridges.

Remotely controlled fast-open/close doors have been installed at factory entrances and exits to reduce heat losses and energy costs; They also improve the factory environment for the workforce. A water-recycling system has been installed on the rigs for testing production boilers before despatch, reducing water consumption.
