Fan convectors provide warm welcome to live music events in northern social club

Smith's Environmental Products, space heating, fan convectors
The venue for live music events in this Sunderland social club is now much warmer following the installation of fan convectors from Smith’s Environmental Products and a new boiler.

The installation of fan convectors at high level to supplement radiators in the vast concert room of a social club in Sunderland has vastly improved comfort. Eight Ecovector HL 2900 fan convectors from Smith’s Environmental Products were installed at the same time as the boiler was replaced and were selected because then can easily be fitted to an existing heating system.

The work was at Farringdon Social Club was carried out by A. Crozier Plumbing & Heating.

Managing director Alan Crozier explains, ‘The existing radiators were not heating the room effectively. Even with the boiler replacement, it was still felt that a supplementary heat source was necessary as the radiators alone were not able to provide sufficient heat to such a big space. I looked at a number of alternative fan-convector solutions, but the Ecovector HLs has the most user-friendly interface of all the options available.

‘Opting to install fan convectors from Smith’s was certainly the correct decision as they heat the concert room up to a comfortable level with the radiators turned off. The high-level Ecovectors have now been in situ for 15 months, and the club has informed me that the radiators have been rendered redundant as the fan convectors are doing such a good job of heating the room on their own.’
