Colman diffusers serve state-of-art radiotherapy centre

Colman air-distribution equipment has been installed throughout this new radiotherapy centre at the Royal Oldham Hospital

Colman louvres, diffusers and toilet valves have been used extensively throughout the new £17 million Christie radiotherapy centre at the Royal Oldham Hospital. This ground-breaking facility is said to be the first of its kind in the UK — and it is also the first in a network of Christie radiotherapy centres, the second of which is being built at Salford Royal and due to open later this year. Up to 70 patients a day can be treated at this new centre, which has two radiotherapy machines.

Over 200 standard white S Series louvre-faced diffusers, grilles and toilet valves for supply and extract air have been installed in wards, corridors and treatment rooms. The drop face diffusers addressed the requirement for excellent air distribution and were compatible with the specified ceiling grid system whilst meeting architectural aesthetics.

Colman diffuser integrate with most types of ceiling systems with frame styles that cater for surface, recessed, T-bar or threadline mounting.
