Schneider brings AM2 assessment centres up to modern standards

Low-voltage electrical distribution products from Schneider Electric have been specified for use in AM2 (Achievement Measure 2) assessment centres throughout the UK following an agreement with National Electro-Technical Training (NET), which specialises in providing high-quality assessment of occupational competence in the electrical industry.

AM2 has been the standard for competence-based assessment in the electro-technical industry for the last 25 year and has recently been revamped to reflect the demands placed on today’s electricians and contractors. As part of the move to the new scheme, NET worked with training provider GTEC to upgrade and modernise the AM2 cubicles, which are used by electricians for the independent assessment of competence.

Schneider Electric provided a specially modified 3-phase distribution board based on its Isobar model, direct online starters from its Tesys range, C60H circuit breakers and Vario isolation switches. The products are used in NET’s network of 41 AM2 assessment centres.
