WR Refrigeration trainee lands top industry award

WR Refrigeration

Carley Gorman, a field engineering with WR Refrigeration, has come out tops in a major training competition. The 22-year-old was presented with the award for Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineer Level 2 at the HVCA’s annual training awards for Yorkshire.

She is based at WR’s Leeds branch, has been with company for three years and is undertaking a combination of college-based and on-the-job training.

She said, ‘I love the job, the variety and hands-on aspect — and the fact that no two days are the same. Refrigeration runs in my family. My grandfather worked in refrigeration all his life, and my stepdad is in the industry. We have a lot to talk about — discussions can get very interesting!

‘I really like the fact that you get to see sites all over the country that most people my age don’t get to see. There is never a dull moment’

Her long-term ambition is to be a commissioning engineer.
