Advanced Air completes its R&D centre
Advanced Air has increased its investment in research and development to over £250 000 with the completion of the final phase of its R&D centre. The centre brings together a wide range of product-development and technical activities — including product testing and development, with real-room mock-ups for fan-coil units, chilled beams and terminal devices.
The main test area is 15 x 6 m and can accommodate most customer requirements, including acoustic testing down to NR20 levels.
The investment includes a wide spectrum of instrumentation and computer-aided design tools — including engineering fluid dynamics, the latest evolution of computational fluid dynamics. EFD enables engineers to optimise product designs without the time and costs associated with physical prototyping.
The company now has the facilities to conduct virtually all types of tests that may be required by a design team for terminal air-conditioning systems.
