Weatherite acts fast to save communications centre

Copper theft from the air-conditioning system serving the main communications room at the Jennie Lee Centre in Wednesfield led an urgent need for a new system, which Weatherite Building Services installed in three days.

When vandals caused serious damager to the IT cooling system at a popular education centre, Weatherite Building Services installed a complete new system within three days of receiving the order. The Jennie Lee Centre in Wednesfield, West Midlands, has suffered a spate of vandalism recently, including refrigeration copper pipework being stolen. Without cooling, temperatures in the IT room rose to over 38°C, and equipment was in serious danger of being damage.

The air-conditioning systems served the main communications rooms, and WBS installed a new energy-efficient Mitsubishi air-conditioning system, ensuring, where possible, that no external pipework/ductwork was visible and securing condensing units in a high-security caged compound.
