CP Electronics provides streamlined lighting control for Speedo

Comprehensive control of lighting in the new headquarters of Speedo is provided by CP Electronics’ Vitesse systems.

CP Electronics’ Vitesse Plus and Vitesse Modular lighting-control system are delivering energy-efficient lighting for the new headquarters of swimwear company Speedo on the NG2 Business Park in Nottingham. Speedo has signed a 17-year lease for this 4000 m2 headquarters, which houses 175 staff. It hosts the company’s global Aqualab Research & Development Centre and acts as the brand’s international base for visiting partners and athletes sponsored by Speedo.

The Vitesse Plus lighting distribution system with presence detection and daylight linking is used throughout the open-plan offices. Vitesse is a marshalling box with simply pluggable outputs to provide for ease of installation and commissioning. There are up to 10 outputs, enabling it to be used with a range of control options — including photocell-controlled and manual dimming, presence or absence detection, corridor linking and manual switching — as well as testing of emergency lighting.

Its three configurable channels and various functions enable Vitesse Plus to provide a high level of lighting control without the need for a control network.

Vitesse Modular provides presence detection in circulation areas and toilets, with absence detection and dimming in the smaller office.

In some rooms CP’s VITM6-SELVMOD is incorporated into the system to provide SELV dimming control for DSI or DALI ballasts.

The contractor was familiar with Vitesse and, as the system has the flexibility to met specification and functionality, a speedy and efficient installation was guaranteed.
