MHI provides peak comfort for hotel in the Peak District
VRF heat-recovery air conditioning for all 27 rooms in a new modern boutique hotel extension to the Red Lion Bar & Bistro on the edge of the Peak District is provided by a system from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. A twin split system has also been installed in the hotel reception. Both systems adjust compressor output to match demand from indoor units to ensure consistent temperature control and save energy.
The equipment for the Peak Edge Hotel at the Red Lion near Chesterfield was supplied by 3D Air Sales and installed by Maximum Cooling Services of Barnsley.
The 3-pipe heat-recovery system enables different rooms to function in cooling or heating mode simultaneously, with rooms being cooled providing heating for others.
There are two outdoor units of 40 and 50 kW serving a ducted indoor unit in each bedroom. The units were specified to suit the room size, which range from superior double bedrooms to luxury suites.
The FDUM ducted indoor units are supplied as standard with a remote controller. The controllers are programmed into the hotel’s key-card system so guests can activate air conditioning and lighting in their rooms. Guests can control heating and cooling within a set temperature range.
