Energy-saving specialist doubles annual turnover

EMSc (UK), which designs and manufactures the Star range of energy-saving products has seen turnover increase by 50% over the last 12 months to £12.4 million and doubled its workforce to 70 people. To accommodate the growth, the company has also moved into larger premises. The company’s product range includes the Powerstar voltage optimiser, Lightstar for controlling lighting and Hotelstar for hotels and commercial buildings.

The Rotherham-based company was set up 10 years ago by the designer of its leading product, Powerstar, Dr Alex Mardapittas. All its products are made in the UK, and clients include Asda, Co-op, Punch Taverns, London Stock Exchange, Metropolitan Police, Transport for London, Sheffield University and Bristol University
