New pumps for old

Grundfos, pumps

A mere 47 years since it was installed in 1964, this Grundfos circulating pump has finally been replaced — or, rather, retired to be replaced by an energy-efficient Grundfos Alpha2 model. The old pump, a VP3501, was one of the first circulators to incorporate stepless regulation and was installed in a new house in Viborg, Denmark.

The pump’s power consumption of 45 W was very low for its time, and Grundfos estimates that it has pumped 411 720 m3 of water during its life.

Its product number was 207932, and it now takes its place in the Grundfos museum.

Are there any other operational VP3500 pumps out there? If you find one, Grundfos is offering a free Alpha2 replacement.
