Flakt Woods takes energy-recovery ventilation to a new level

Flakt Woods, AHU, energy recovery, heat recovery

Flakt Woods’s E3co Crown range of energy-recovery units exceeds ErP (Energy-related Products Directive) requirements for 2015. These units are based on Eurovent-certified counterflow aluminium heat plate exchangers that can achieve energy-recovery efficiencies in excess of 90%. Other features include fans with EC motors that exceed the Ecodesign targets set for 2015.

The modular construction of these units includes complete thermal-bridging features and seals that recover their state when panels are removed.

These units provide airflows of up to 2 m3/s and adjust themselves automatically according to the operating load. A built-in motorised proportional bypass means that during warmer months incoming air will be cooled and dehumidified. In cooler months, incoming air will be preheated and humidified.

Units can communicate with a BMS, enabling them to integrate with other automated systems in a building to achieve significant energy savings and improved control and management of building operation.
