Smoke-evacuation damper from Gilberts

Gilberts, smoke evacuation damper

Series 54 is the third evolution of Gilberts’ popular smoke-evacuation damper. It keeps pace with fast-changing smoke and fire test standards and represents a complete redevelopment programme benefiting from the latest production technologies and assembly processes. It is an all-new damper that meets the latest test standard requirements and also offers the company’s best-ever value.

These smoke dampers are particularly suited for smoke-evacuation shafts and risers in multi-storey buildings. They have parallel linked blades and are made from robust 1.5 mm galvanised steel and tested to the requirements of EN1366 Part 2 for an hour. The damper combines a low leakage rate with a high free area when open to support high smoke-evacuation rates.

All dampers are fitted with Belimo actuators to offer either powered-motor open/close and failsafe spring-return open/closed actuation. They are available for opening sizes from 400 x 400 mm to 1000 x 2000 mm. The largest damper has a free area of 1.5 m2.

For aesthetic finishing, the damper face can be powder-coated to a stock RAL colour. An optional cover plate can be fitted to disguise the motor. Alternatively, dampers can be masked with a fixed-blade type cover grille with blades angled at 40° for virtual full damper masking. These cover grilles can be face screw fixed or concealed fixed.
