Lochinvar boosts boiler and hot-water range

Recent additions to Lochinvar’s range of copper-fin gas-fired water heaters and boilers and the Intelli-fin and Power-fin products. The Intell-fin is a fully recuperative condensing unit offering a gross efficiency of 97%. High levels of efficiency are maintained even when return-water temperatures are below the optimum 20°C. These units modulate instantly using a variable-frequency drive. Other key features include self-diagnostic controls, metallic fibre burner and a variety of flueing options. Power-fin is identical to the Intelli-fin, with the exception of the secondary heat exchanger, so that it operates either as a high-efficiency non-condensing boiler or water heating. The established copper-fin heat exchanger carries a 5-year warranty for water-heating and 10 years as a heating boilers. There are three sizes of each unit, with outputs of 440, 500 and 585 kW. When used as direct-fired water heaters, recovery ranges from 7280 to 9680 l/h based on a temperature rise of 50°C. Complementing the use of these units for water heating, Lochinvar has improved its Select water-heating selection programme for specifiers. 18 types of application are covered in version 2, and there is the ability to select waterheaters with conventional or balanced flues. Various combinations of water heaters and storage tanks can be requested, and the software give the user up to four options to meet the total hot-water requirement. Technical product submittals, standard specification clauses and CAD drawings are also available to view, print and save to hard disc.
