Sontay boosts the capabilities of SonNet wireless system

Synapsys Solutions and Sontay have joined forces to create Trend and BACnet interfaces for the SonNet wireless system. Simon Ward, business-development director with Sontay, says, ‘This collaboration demonstrates a step forward in the building-controls industry as companies are working together to make life easier for installers and building managers. The new Trend and BACnet interfaces will increase the Sontay wireless offering and the range of applications it can be used for.’

Sontay has also launched the second phase of the SonNet system, with a new CO2 sensor powered by a battery and I/O module.

The new I/O module can take an 0 to 10 V DC, 4 to 20 mA, resistive or VFC signal from wired devices and transmit them to a SonNet receiver. This receiver can be read by a JACE controller through a Niagara framework. The strategy in the controller uses this information to calculate control values and pass them back to alter damper positions and other output connections in the field.
